Anti-Carceral Care Certification
Course sessions will tentatively take place on Wednesdays from 6:00-9:00pm Eastern for 10 weeks beginning in January 2027.
This program includes:
- Lifetime access to monthly, informal, group Supervision (which begins during your coursework) community-led, state-based breakout groups for regional legal questions.
- One, 60-minute 1:1 coaching session with Raquel Savage & Soleil (Angie Gunn LCSW, CST, CSTS) to build your unique, abolitionist therapy practice.
- Option to be added to our Anti-Carceral Care Provider Directory
The tentative curriculum is as follows:
- History of Community Care & Indigenous Methods of Healing
- Systems of Oppression in Mental Health
- History of Mandated Reporting & State Terror
- History of Ableism, Sanism & Involuntary Hospitalization
- Dynamics of Abuse & the Physiology of Trauma
- Abolition in Mental Healthcare: Ethics & Harm
- Abolition in Mental Healthcare: Working with Children & Families
- Disrupting Saviorism as a Clinician
- Alternatives to State Intervention (case practice)
- Building an Anti-Carceral Practice
