Jin Kwak is a visual artist, counselor and supervisor at the Trevor Project, and an online art therapy graduate student at West Penn University. Prior to entering the mental health field, they've worked in the fine arts industry and as a community organizer for sex workers. They currently are a core organizer of the Sex Worker's Outreach Project - Hawai'i Chapter, and have organized with other organizations such as Red Canary Song and the New York City Anti-Violence Project. Jin is a former sex worker themselves and has been in the sex industry since 2013. After completing their graduate degree, Jin plans on developing art therapy programs for local prisons in Hawai'i, and focusing on building a clientele of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated peoples. Jin aspires to combine their passion of visual arts and mental health to cultivate an art therapy practice that is healing and effective for all of their clients.
