Learning Objectives
Underneath each learning objective you will find the AASECT learning area criteria it satisfies. This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 3 CE credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to describe, broadly, systemic oppression including the tenets of white supremacy and the differences between privilege and marginalized identities and how this informs general values around sex and sex work.
C. Socio-cultural factors (e.g. ethnicity, culture, religion, spirituality, socio-economic status, family values) in relation to sexual values and behaviors
By the end of this session, participants will be able to explore the role of the clinician in systems of oppression, and name at least 2 strategies for mitigating the impact of systemic role within their role.
A. Ethics and ethical behavior.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to identify systemic oppression specific to sex workers like stigmatization, criminalization and how occupying multiple marginalized identities increases experiences of harm.
D. Issues related to sexual orientation and/or gender identity: heterosexuality, issues and themes impacting gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual people, gender identity and expression
